Have been running Fab. Maxflos for about a year now and love them. I´ve gotten used to the music, so now I´m concidering bypass pipes. I´m afraid it´ll be to noicy for the track-meets in my area...

How about injection and smog gear, will the computer brain start playing tricks and flashing lights at me?

zdr2k: earplugs eh..don't i know it. i was thikning of gettin snap-on sound deadening headphones,, or just FM wireless headphones so i can listen to some Van Halen while ripping thru gears.

bjorne: no problems with smog and no check engine lights with the muffler bypasses, cat bypass pipes give some people check engine lights, and you wont pass smog without cats.

The only issue with muffler bypass pipes, other than being too f'ing loud for the street, is that they can burn out your cats. If you get a CEL with bypass pipes, be sure and throw some mufflers on before going to the dealer for warranty coverage. Cats are 1495$ each.

how many have had this prob? is it the reduced back pressure that causes the premature failure?

Oups... My MY99 is past warranty since way back. Maybe I shouldn´t do it...

Omar - I noticed you´ve got a CF hood. Nice! Where did you get it? Are you happy with it? Price/quality?
I´ve been scouting my "local" market but its hard to find any resonably priced CF hoods here in europe...
