Question adjusting the exhaust tips

I have an 01 996 with fabspeed muflers and stock tips. My tips seam to be nearly 2 inches lower than everyone elses. ...too much gap between the tips and the rear bumper cover. I've had the car up on jacks and just can't figure how to adjust them. Suggestions?

Loosen the clamp between the muffler and tip. You should be able to move it.

It will only rotate the tip. The clamp will only hold the two together at one height.

No, it will move up and down also. Try loosining it a little more.

the tips rotate at the clamp. Some angle can be accomplished, but not enough.

There is no adjustment at the mufler. I'm at a loss. I've seen other cars with fabspeed mufflers w/o the excessive clearence.

Could you have mounted the cans the wrong way (how?), so that they´re to low?

I have porsche tequipment tips on Fabspeed Maxflos. Normal gap.

I have a C4S and although my tips aren't exactly the same as the narrowbodies, there should still be a way for you to adjust the tips:

The long (yours may be short) tube that is attached to the tips is connected to the muffler via V band clamps. By loosening the V band, you can adjust the height of the tips. Loosen and rotate around the neck of the V band.

Loosening the bolt at or below the tips (where the tips are actually clamped onto the tube) really does nothing other than rotate it. But this will become important as you will need to line it up evenly after you adjust the height at the V band.
