Stereo upgrades to go with the PCMII?

Stereo upgrades to go with the PCMII?
Hey guys,
I have the stock stereosystem in my -03 and it sucks, to say the least
What size speakers do I have stock in the dash and in the rearseat area? Can they be changed to something bigger/better without modding anything? Or do I have to go with some stock ones? Do I need an amp for this?
Also, can I mount an active subwoofer between or behind the rear seats and connect it to the PCMII stock headunit without compromising anything?
Sorry for all the questions but my Porsche dealer doesn't know much about this, at least they tell me..
