Cross Post 997 Rear shot - this is Def. the car

Note the quad exhaust tip set up and the car is wider ala TT and C4s bodies

This car is very much a refresh not a completely new car - I would say this deifference over the 997 to the 996 is the same comparison as the 993 to the 964 -

Wish we could find an interior shot

wakejudge is infamous around these parts
Which confirms my recent post about my discussion with my dealer that has seen the 997 at the factory. Minor changes like a facelift rather than a big change.

Quad pipes works well, looks cool.

I think that rear end is still heavily camouflaged. The 997 should be good, real good...I'm jonesing for a 997S!

Doesn't excite me too much, looks similar to the current car. Now, if the 997 has a bump of 50+ horsepower, I'm drooling like a big dog.

If past history is any guide, a TT will be way off in the distance.

I'm beginning to wonder on the timing/release of the 997. With so many mules running loose, it's obvious that this beast is ready. So why not show it at the next auto show (Jan/Feb/Mar) and start taking orders now?

Maybe they'll show it early in '04, release to dealers in spring (order guide), release the vehicle in the fall for customers. Who knows.

But in the past, the Turbo has always lagged a year or two (or more) behind the C2.

So maybe they'll release the Coupe/Cab of this 997 C2 next year as an '05, and we could see a TT version as an '06 or '07.

Or.... maybe they'll just surprise the crap out of all of us and release C2 Coupe, C2 Cab, C4S and Turbo all at one time!

Go figure. I'm in the same boat, contemplating a C4S Cab now, and wait a year after the 997 release before buying again.
