996 3.4 NA gundo exhaust hack power loss, ecu retune?
Good evening
Have read a few forums about this thread, but still none of them answers my question.
So i bought my first Porsche 911 996 carerra 4, 3.2 300hp, and the first thing i did was the "gundo exhaust hack". I can say that i feel power loss through the whole rev range, it just does not pull as it used to before the exhaust "upgrade". I also noticed higher engine temperature rise (on mixed driving styles), where before it stayed on somewhere close 180 F, below "8", and after exhaust modifications, it goes almost over "0", thats somewhere around 200 F. In my experience with cars or motorbikes especially, if i decrease back pressure and increase the air flow in the engine, it runs lean and therefore needs more fuel. So the big question is: Is it necessary to remap the ecu to give more fuel after muffler modification OR should i just make the exhaust as it used to be???
I like the sound car makes, but performance is more important than sound.
