I have 2002 996 Carrera 4 Cabriolet .
The driver side tension cable for the top appears to be failing.
i have seen posts re rivet repair or cable replacement but after visiting a convertible top repair shop it appears the cable is part of the top and cannot be independently replaced .
Anybody have experience with this? Tension cable failure
Just as a follow up: Replaced entire convertible top at a cost of about $3400.
It's an OEM replacement and has worked fabulously since then.
Def worth it.
