TechArt rubbing issues!
I will cut and copy this from another post I've made;
Now I'm officialy screwed, just went out to the garage to take a final look before ordering my 285/30's thinking they will be much better than my 295/35's.. WRONG! I allready have the 295/30's
Now what? Can I machine of some of the rim? Will going to 285/30 help? The Michelin has such a "fat lip" protecting the rim, looks ugly to, my previous Yokohama AVS Sports had flush tire sides, so does almost any other tire except the Pilot Sports, maybe this adds to the problem? Is there any danger to having one brand up front and another at rear?
Is there really no other out there with the 42mm offset on their TechArts?? Getting more and more desperate here, summer is comming up fast

Hmmm, that's the same set up I have, no rubbing here. Have the rear lips been rolled?
Don't worry too much that can be fixed by the camber, of course you'll just wear out your tires sooner.

It looks to me that the offset is too low, and ANY tire you put on this is going to rub without rolling the fender lip and/or increasing negative camber. I'd return the wheels and get into something with 5-10mm higer offset if I were you.

perfect offset (without rolling fenders)
just to share with you...this is my 18x11 (65mm offset - 7mm spacer= 58mm offset) w/ 295s tire. There is no rubbing whatsoever and fenders and not rolled on my 02 C2 narrowbody.

I will order 285/30's first, if that doesn't work, I will adjust camber according to Arlings specs, if that doesn't do it (which I know customers of his do) I will either machine the rims 3-4mm or drive the car in to TechArts main office
j/k of course about the TA thing!

I think a less wide tire and some negative camber shoudl fix this, I only have theese problems with a passenger in the car plus it is lowered with the X74 package
More input would be nice though, I'm sure there are others out there with similar issues? Thanks in advance!
How important is it to run 4 exact same brand tires on a C4 996? The Pilot Sport PS2 I have only comes in 295 wide, now I have no other choice than to buy another set of rear tires that will not match the front
Maybe I should just go with some Pirellis or Yokohamas, they don't have that stupid fat lip on the side of the tire to protect the rim neither...
Any input wheter this is dangerous or not?

Sorry for all the questions, I promise will buy a beer when I come to the states
Thanks again!

Got it?

Got it?
I would owe you for life if you could snap a pic or two of your car, please?
