Unhappy Battery Warning Light

Hi guys,

On the way home, the battery warning light came on for my C4S... parked the car and switched off the engine... then starting her up again... but the warning light is kept staying on.

The manual says it might be caused by:

a. fault in the battery charging system; or
b. broken drive belt

I looked into the engine bay and can see the drive belt is still ok (i think).

Just wondering whether some of you guys had a similar problem before or not. this is the first time it came up...

Many thanks,

Vinnam.

use a multimeter across your batery terminals and get the voltage readings with the car running and off. Off should be ~12, running is typically in the 13-14 volt range (not sure on the Porsche, but's the range most charging systems run at. You should also check the terminals for corrosion and tightness.
