front bumper

Thanks..your blk s/c looks hot and I'm sure it is pretty quick

How long did the removal of the bumper alone take? Are there special tools that i need other than the regular household tool box tools? i am thinking of just dropping off the front bumper to the body shop instead of leaving the entire car with them for a week. thx

Hi,

It took about 20 minutes to get the car on jack stands and the wheels off. My floor jack does not fit under the back of the car. So first it I needed to raise the car from the front lift point, then put a small brick under the front tire. Then let the car back down on the brick. Then I could get the jack under the rear lift point. The front of the car will come up high enough to get the jack stand under the front lift point by lifting it from the back lift point. Then repeat on the other side.It took another 30 minutes to take off the bumper. I could probably get it off in less than 20 minutes the next time. I also have air tools, so that saves some time.

Tools:
jack, jack stands, 19 mm socket for the wheel bolts, phillips and flat blade screwdrivers, Torx bits T25 & T30, Torgue wrench for wheel bolts.

Thanks, The car is significantly faster and has much better throttle response with the Super Charger.

Thanks buddy

I will make this my easter sunday pm project tomorrow.

NIce collection you got going, I am very tempted on the S/C as well on my c2. Can you seriously feel that you gained 150 hp from the charger?

I didn't remove the wheels. I just rotated them to access the plastic pop rivets and metal screws. There are 3 philip screws around the side markers. 1 is behind wheel liner.

Take a mental note of how the bottom cover attaches to the plastic panels / wheel liner.

It took me a couple of hours to get it off. Surprisingly, putting it back on was easier since I know where the screws went.

You'll want to clean out the radiators while you are there.

front bumper

thanks again for your help...i may try the route without taking off the wheels first.. I guess as long as i can get access to the rivets and screws inside the wheel well, I am straight. Will post photos of my front bumper project soon...
