introduction :)
Hello Everyone-
I wanted to introduce myself in this 996 forum as I am largely writing on behalf of my Father who recently acquired his "new" black on black 2002 996 C4S.
My name is Marc, I'm a somewhat recent UCLA grad (August 2004) currently in law school down in sunny San Diego. Having enjoyed most of my years at UCLA with a track-prepped Mustang while engaging in several open track events at Buttonwillow and Thunderhill, you may be a bit surprised to discover that my law school vehicle is now a 2001 BMW X5 4.4 Sport! The reason is simple: it's the best of both worlds, offering practicality, comfort, and sportiness -- enough so that I'm actually taking her to Thunderhill on Wed, May 10 with my Father and his Porsche!! I'm curious to see whether my X5 can top my Mustang's best laptime of 2:34 (I... think) which, incidentally, is just a little V6, albeit one reduced to only 3,000 lbs flat and pushing around 200 crank hp.
In any case, I'm pleased to make your acquaintance and look forward to talking with more of you over the coming years... after all, I am convinced that my next vehicle WILL be a Porsche of some kind because after all...
there really is NO substitute, something I've discovered while driving the wheels off my Father's C4S.
Cheers,
--Marc
