I was browsing eBay and saw this ad for rear glass top. Now all pre facelift 996 can have glass top too!

GAHH brought the 986 rear glass and does it again for 996. No affiliation to GAHH but their stuff is quality.

hmm i had heard there was no way to put glass in. something about how it goes into the top as it folds or something... this i would do if they can pull it off.

 

There is no way to put the 02+ Porsche top on the 99=01 frame because it folds differently. they have designed a glass roof that folds properly in a 99-01 frame. Not impossible. Porsche could have done it but why? The glass rear window is one of many reasons to buy a newer car....These are the same guys that developed the glass rear window roof for the 97-02 Boxster. I am local so I will check them out...

 

Please let me know what you find out on this. I would love to pull out that plastic window and have it redone... Thanks!

Yeah the window looks small, and I am sure to get it to fold the compromise was a smaller rear window. i wonder how it compares to the 02+ tops in regards to window size....
