Billy Boat exhaust for '02 C4S
So many other choices for an exhaust, dont buy Billy Boat they suck big time.
I will say I never heard it on a Porsche but the one they made for my RS6 it actually MORE quiet than the OE setup.
Fabspeed, Milltek, FVD, Europipe are real good setups. Dont know if this helps but I personally would stay away from BB.
Good luck,
Bajo

just put ghls on my 2000 996.
a bit louder than stock, quieter than the fabspeed i had on my 87 carrera.
i think i would have liked it just a very little bit louder.
nice sounds under acceleration, but very unobtrusive at steady throttle.
you know it is there, but normal conversation and listening to the radio are still quite possible.
btw-installation was easier than i had thought.

I'm considering just doing mufflers back, possibly FAbspeed. Is it worth it? Will I gain hp with some growl? Dont know if i can swing a full system right now.

all but porsche make hp gain claims.
i really can't vouch for any of them unequivically ( sp ).
i suppose that the decrease in back pressure will give some hp.
the only way to tell is by doing a before and after test on a dyno.
i think that there is a thread going on somewhere about a company that has a new cold air intake or something to that effect.
their claim is for 25? hp for only $350.
might fall under the snake oil heading, but as i remember, one or two listers have volunteered to be guinea pigs with their cars on a dyno.
another advantage to an aftermarket muffler/exhaust would be that the units are usually noticeably lighter than stock.
anytime you can remove weight from a fat-assed care like a 911, that can't be all bad.
just my .02c.

My Fabspeed Maxflo´s seem to be about the same weight as the stock mufflers. (didn´t have a scale handy when I made the switch) Fab cans are smaller but made of much thicker steel.
About the +8-10 hp increase from stock: maybe a few ponies, but I´m not sure... But the sound alone is worth the switch!

it would appear that 8-10 or so hp with the addition of aftermarket mufflers ( no matter whose they are ) seems to be the consensus of opinion---scientifically derived or not.
however, that works out to about $100 per hp +-.
the cold air intakes are sold for so much less and have advetised or claim to have such high hp gains, that it seems highly unlikely that the calims are true.
the only real test is the dyno----anyone have any results yet?

We carry most of the name brands in case anyone is intrested. We also have a blow out special on our modified stock exhaust for $895 installed. It's a very sweet sounding exhaust. Very similar to the factory sport exhaust only slightly louder. Shoot me a PM if any of you are intrested.
