Got a new look... PSS9's + GT2 Front
Hey guys,
Just got back from the HIN show in AC this past weekend and have added some mods. As some of you might know, I was going to do the 02+ conversion. In fact, I bought the 02+litronics and turbo bumper (still have it if anyone is interested), but decided to go against it as I'm not sure how long I will have this car. I also got a killer deal on a GT2 front for 99-01 cars (i've always loved the way deadeye and karlooz's front looked) and decided to go for it....
My car is also dropped on PSS9's now and I absolutely love them. I was going back and forth b/w X74, PSS9s and JICs. In the end, I went for PSS9s because ride comfort was very important to me (mostly city driving and the occasional DE). I have it on medium settings in terms of dampening and am very happy with the results. The handling is night and day over the stock. The floatiness I felt at higher speeds is gone and I feel confident taking sharper turns. I think the car could be a tad lower (right now a finger can fit through the wheel gap), but I'm already scraping in my garage so I can't go any further. The only question I have for other PSS9 owners is, do you hear a sort of "clanking" noise when you roll over a hard bump? I'm not sure if that is normal. Other than that, I think it is a great mod and would recommend it to every 996 owner. It not only handles great now, but looks much better and the stock wheel gap is all but gone. Anyways, heres some pics..... my roof spoiler didn't make it in time for the show. Oh well.
Next mods: rear bumper and audio.

Ray, I agree! I'll get a new one up soon....
Karlooz -- mannnn, you are one of the reasons for making my wallet lighter!
Love the front.... Hey, what lower lip do you have? The one I have on now is kind of flimsy

hehe, you can't pin it on me dude
the lip is a cargraphic knock-off. i got it from xtrememotorcars.com. they sell stuff on ebay. from the looks of it they appear to do business with precisionporsche.com. they have the exact same pics on their website.
the lip was kinda a pain to install. i'm not sure who you got the gt2 look bumper from but the one has the chin pointing slightly upwards. from the looks of it so does yours. the lip didn't fit well with my bumper so i had to do some modifications/trimming. if you got the bumper from xtreme then the buper would fit much better but i got my bumper from another manufacturer. also because the lip pointed upwards i ended up trimming the bottome edge of the lip even more so that the lower edge would be parallel with the ground. i'll post some pics in a bit.

PSS9s will have a twang sound if you turn the steering wheel hard at low speed. The springs move around. This sound will not be there at higher speeds. If you are hearing something you may be hitting the bump stops which means you have them installed too low.
Car looks great!

Chris - That's what I'm thinking as well. It's no where near the lowest settings as I was told. I'll have Taso re-look at them.
Karlooz - That's interesting.... Yeah, I'm not that much a fan of my current lip. I'd love to throw on the oem gt2 lip if I could, but I'm not sure if it would fit. I'll look into the PP lip. thanks man
Newport - Thanks! did you ever decide if you are going for aftermarket brakes?
cadence - Working on PMing you back
Getting my list together for you.
wrosstt - Thanks for the advice. I'm going to have the shop re-look at them. The sound is not there at high speeds, only when I'm moving slowly and hit a relatively big bump.

That car looks awesome. I have PSS9's on my 997 and I used to hear that "twang" sound on very low speeds (1mph or crawling) in the parking lots or in my driveway when turning the steering wheel. The sound dissapears at higher speeds and it is the spring just moving in it's bed.
