Most automobile gasoline
sits in huge tanks at the refinery sometimes for months before it gets into the distribution system and finally gets burned in your car. I would not worry about gas losing its power if the gas sits for less than 6 months.
More importantly than the gas losing its power is mosture condensation in the car's tank. If you do let your car sit for more than a few months, or every fall regardless, but some moisture dissolver in your gas tank. Frozen gas lines are no fun in the middle of winter.
