Loud Squeak in Brakes!

Had the front brake pads replaced recently and now I've got a loud noise coming from my front left side only! Don't know if it's b/c the rotors need to be replaced 'cause they're warped. If I stomp hard on the brakes I won't hear any noise but if I lightly tap and glide on the brakes to a complete stop then the noise is just loud and irritating. Called a local shop and asked what the problems were and was informed by a mechanic that different manufacturers of brake pads have different compounds and perhaps the brake pads I purchased recently don't go with my rotors. Whatever it is . . bugs the crap out of me. Feels like I'm driving a jalopy

Need some words of advise. . . Takin' her into the dealer tomorrow.

Do you know if the person who replaced the pads used anti-squeel lubricant on the back of the pads? If not, that may be your problem. Does your noise happen when applying the brakes lightly after you slamed on the brakes previously? It could be a almost anything. If the car is braking straight and with no vibration in the wheel then your rotors are most likely not warped. I suggest you take it back and have them take a look at the pads again. Please let us know how you make out.
