Weekend Mods..painted calipers, caps, and spacers...

This weekend I painted my calipers with the G2 caliper paint kit, also painted my previously all black center caps with yellow "Carrera 4" script and finally I put 15mm spacers on the front of the car whic has 19" 997 Sport Design rims which are a 57 offset and 8" wide which means they are pushed inside the wheel well 7mm more than the stock 996 18" wheels. With the 15mm spacedr they are now the same as 996 GT3 wheels...the rears already were the same...these are just quick snaps...better pics to come later...

i had terrible luck with the G2 on my calipers. looked like ****. the only thing i hate more than their garbage product is their ****ty customer service. came out lumpy with streaks. followed the directions impicitly. tried and twice and gave up. finally got them powdercoated.

Mine came out great, but DD I agree with you, it can be problematic. I was planning on getting them powder coated or upgrading so this was a no brainer for me to try....the key to it not being lumpy was to watch as it dried...if it began to lump up, use the bruse to smooth it out....on caliper was slightly lumpy....I used the plasticote spray on my boxster and it was ok...I thought this came out better...actually I am very happy with the results....

i did it on my bmw. came out geat. looked like **** on the porsche caliper though. not sure why. i think it may have something to do with how smooth the caliper surface is compared to the bmw calipers. the paint was way too thick. if you tried to brush a lump out, you would get brush lines in the paint instead. lose lose pc'ing them was more money, but they look really really good.

Hey John,

Looks great!

I used 6mm spacers up front and they're still too far in. Which 15mm spacers did you buy? BTW I put 4mm spacers on the rear and they're perfect.
