WHOA, that's a pretty good price, my cost on the MAF is $236.92. $8.85 above cost is an extremely good price.

Before you replace it, try cleaning it. I had a problem with the MAF on my wife's 996 (CEL lit, and would re-light after codes cleared; all codes pointed to MAF). I pulled it out, cleaned it with some rubbing alcohol and a q-tip, and replaced it. Problem free since.

Removing it is easy if you have security Torx bits (available at many places). Otherwise, you can remove them with a pair of needlenose pliers if you're patient, then replace with a pair of regular screws.

vty,

I agree with Dennis. Try to clean the MAFS wire element first. If the sensor is really dirty, you may want to let it soak in Simple Green for about ten minutes and then scrub down the extra dirt on the wire. Sounds crazy, but it works.

Mass Air

Yes I would try to clean it first, just be careful with the wire
If it's no good now, you have nothing to loose by trying to clean it. Use the rubbing alcohol and a Q-tip
