Can you tell if a 996 has xenons just by looking at a picture or with the VIN?

Can you tell if this 996 has xenons? Or is there a letter or number in the VIN # that will confirm it?

It LOOKS like it has xenon's, but a better picture would help...

If i had to bet, i would say it does

Yes, it does. There is a polished metal cap (headlight washer cap) on the headlight which means it is xenon.

I've always wondered how to tell on a 2002 as well...I guess you mean that small round chrome circle that's visable on the pass. headlight under the Benz logo?

Definitely.. 996 without xenons doesnt have the projector beam type light.
it's just plain halogen..
