Did you split the 3-ways between the dash & doors on one side, or did you
put 3-ways in both locations???

I also did the Focal 3 way setup up front. Put the mid's and tweeters in the dash, and the 6.5" bass speaker in the door. Install is a bit more complex then just remove and replace. You have to do a bit of cutting to make things fit. The stock bass speaker enclosures (if you have them) have to be cut open a bit wider to have the 6.5 inch speaker basket drop in, then silicone up all the gaps to seal it up. The dash pods, you have to cut the tweeter pod to get the new one to drop in, then use silicone to hold it in. I then cut apart the stock 4.5 inch speakers to use them as a mounting adapter to mount the Focal speakers to it. I will remove one of the pods and snap a picture for you if youd like to attempt the install yourself. I am still waiting on my amplifier to finish up the headunit, and new wiring to the focal speakers. With just replacing the speakers with the Focals, and everything else stock, the high end sounds better then the stock speakers, but not the big difference I was looking for. Which is why the headunit and amp is going in. I think perhaps the biggest bottleneck on the stock system is the stock amplifier.

Mid bass driver in the door 6.5", 4" mid and 1" tweeter in the dash. The reason I did this was if you go with a 2 way system, and seperate mid bass driver then you need a 3 way crossover which doesnt come with the 2 way system, or a seperate crossover and seperate amp channels for the door speakers. A 3 way lets you run all the fronts including the doors off of the same channels.

When I bought a new receiver, I got one with a built in amplifier. Plugged up to the stock Porsche speaks, they sound great! Don't forget to tune your crossovers in your receiver if you havent already done so. It makes a world of difference if you have a sub. You just cut the bass to stock speaks and let the subs handle the bass and the result is pretty crisp.

Damn, I'm dumb when it comes to installing stuff. I have to go some where and tell them what I want and hope they do a good job. I need to find a good place to get a system for my car. Can anyone else post up some pics of what they have done and what they have? Trying to figure out the best setup.
