Nos

Anyone here considered the possibility of adding NOS to their car?
I was watching OCC (Orange County Choppers) last night, and he added a nice two bottle system to his prowler. Looks like a simple install with only a few wires and a small hole in the air intake hose?

ACTUALLY INSTALLING A NOS SYSTEM is very easy me and my friends have doen it a few times on our older cars... one thingyou need to know before your do it is that, you need to know what ype of system to use either a dry or wet system or a direct port system

a dry system :
is basically NOS added before the throttle plate, where nos is sprayed only at full throtle, and gas is added by the injectors
here is a pic of the diagram

a Wet system is basically like the dry system but the difference is that gas is added at the same time when nos is sprayed in to your intake.. hence the "wet" part gas and nos at the same time..

both of the system are ok on normal cars... a car can usually handle about 25-60 shot of nos, the max amount of shot of nos a 996 can take is beyond to me.. a good 30 shot shoudl be fine, i would contact NOS to ask them if they have done it or if they have researched it on a 996

If your one of the big boys you can do a direct port system.

basically injecting nos on all of the runners of the intake, i.e. 6 runners = 6 nos ports.. this more intricate but you can ensure that nos is sprayed equally on all of the runners... this is good for 100-200 shotor more of nitorus

the down side of the pre-throttelplate system is that nos is not evenly distributed through out the intake runners. but it really isnt that impt.s ince you are only shootinga small amount of it into the intake...
here is a diagram...

nos is fun and safe if it is done correctly, when you here hooror stories about nos is when people use too big a shot of nos on their stock motors or when they install it improperly...

the downside is that you have to refill your bottle when the juice is out..

and no it is not the same as the NOS that you breathe in a dentist's office lol

here's more info about nos

i hope this info helps...
