Took it to a local dealer and they said it was "bad gas" and I put in all the products. This worked for a weekend, then the problem came back. Took the car back to the dealer. The dealer said they "couldn't replicate the problem.... That was the end of that dealer (I was not very PEPE after that, ). So, I went to a different dealer who called me back before I got home. At first they didn't believe me that I took it to another dealer. They said the tech found the problem just by turning the car on.... It was a bad coil. Not sure this is your problem, but taking it to a different mechanic can make a world of difference.
Chris, how about some pics of the new ride, welcome to TT land.CH

I have the whole package from Fabspeed - Headers, Max Flow, I love it, 33K miles and not one problem, Each day I drive it like I stole it. The exhaust note is a bit loud, but I love the beast within.

Had Maxflo´s on my C4 -99 for a year or two. Beautyfull sound, excellent fit and a small performance gain. Great product.

Installed their "Cold Air Kit" yesterday. Not quite the same success.

Posting in different thread below:

Just the simple version from Fabspeed. Maybe a little too simple, it seems now. The "muffler block off cap" that comes with the kit didn´t seal properly in the air box lid. I had to come up with a seal myself. As was, it leaked and allowed unfiltered air into the "clean side" of the air box - and the engine...
Also, what Fabspeed calls a "Carbon muffler block of cap" is just i piece of cheap plastic with a fake CF-pattern paint on it.
I know the choice of material doesn´t affect function here (CF wouldn´t have made it fit anyway...), but false marketing bothers me. I hadn´t expected that from Fabspeed. I´m very happy with their mufflers.

As for performance gains, its too early to tell. Just a few miles last night without even getting up to real temperature. The ECU needs time to adjust properly anyway.
All the kit does is eliminate an intake resonance box located inside the air box. It doesn´t really supply any "cold air" that wasn´t there before. So I don´t expect much, if anything. It looks like the elimination of the resonance box inside the air box may give better flow at high rpm´s. But only if this section is the bottleneck of the stock system. The loss of the resonance box on the intake side can actually lead to a loss of performance at some rpm´s... We´ll see.

Some added induction noice can be heard, wich is why i bough the thing in the first place.
Hmm...

I found that the BMC F1 Air Filter really gets the party started with that setup...they are about $100 if I remember correctly.

I'm using a K&N flat panel filter with stock airbox and that definitely made a difference in throttle response and power vs. stock paper air filter.

Hey guys. GOOD NEWS! Found out the problem with ym car was clutch slip. I had that replaced and have reinstalled the gemballa exhaust. SOUND F"ING SICKKKKK!! I also installed Porsche logo drilled aluminum pedals. Id have to say these are a must, heal-toe driving was never so nice of efficient. I dont have a sound clip yet but i will post one when i get around to it, but it sounds exactly like this tubi on the 997S. heres the link.
