996 SC owners, 1/4 miles ?
Hey fellas,
I'm sure some of you guys run your SC'd machines at the track and 1/4 mile, so I'm sure some of you will have real data.
I get asked all the time about the performance of my 996 EVO SC machine and don't really have any good answer other than "its pretty quick", which never really deters Honda owners with coffee can exhausts from claiming numbers of biblical proportions that clearly cannot be true.
Mine is your typical Y2K 3.4L EVO SC with FVD headers and pipes, ssk etc. I'm trying to get a feel for 1/4 mile and 0-60 times, and dyno numbers (wheels or crank)
I seem to recall someone telling me (I think it may have been Sharky) that someone ran an 11.9 in the same configuration as mine.
Anyway, anyone have any real world 0-60, 1/4 mile or dyno results for a similar setup ?

Pulling the waverunner is pretty funny. It's great on the freeway, even cops do the double take in disbelief of what they saw. I'm going to be moving to a bigger place soon, so I might have room for something more suitable for towing, say a lotus esprit.
If there is such a thing as a British redneck, I'd be it.

I'd like to know a real answer to the original post also. I have seen dyno numbers quoted many times, but in all those posts above no one says anything about what the actual 1/4 mile ET actually is for NA996 with a supercharger. Is it really as fast or faster than a stock turbo? Obviously not going to compare to a modded turbo....
Anyone with a 1/4 mile time on a either EVOMS or TPC supercharger?

It's all about the driver, power, weight, and grip when comparing 996's (turbo, NA, SC). 2960lb for a C2 compared to 3390lb for a turbo and combine that with 425RWHP for a SC'd C2 and I would say that with equal drivers and reasonable tires an SC'd C2 would have a good change against a stage 1 stage 2 and (unlikely a) stage 3 (487rwhp). The problem against a stage 3 is that it is virtually same power to weight (in this scenario) so all that is left is grip and assuming they left it with 4wd the turbo has more grip.
Not to go off-topic but has anyone seen a dyno of a stage 3 with 480+rwhp without other mods and without it being from the vendor? At least in the SC world it seems that sometimes the dyno numbers come out a bit higher than what people really seem to get.

On that same note, if anyone has timeslips and/or video of their 1/4 mile runs with their S/C 996...let me know and I'll add them to the 1/4 top dog list:

i don't remember the thread, but i thought they had a 11.7 with the 997 3.8 liter an and 11.9 with the 3.6 liter. i don't remember the trap speeds being all that impressive though. i'm sure somebody can find that thread. evo used to link the story on it, but they don't have it up anymore.

i know GaryFL's TT (stage4.2) absolutely crushes my car. i can't even see me hanging with a stage 2 for that matter. a stock TT, maybe.... haven't had the chance to run a stock one yet. the SC's really lack the torque to whip up on TT's. i would like to see some SC charts overlayed with stock and stage1-2 TT's. now i have taken out 3.6 and 3.8 liter cars with ease. turbos, ehhh...not so confident.

Maybe this is a different Stage3, maybe this is BHP, but they say 488hp (GT550 stage3).
11.65 1/4 mile is impressive and your link to the 1/4 is awesome. Mathmatically a supercharged C2 should be in the high 11's and possibly mids. I too would like to see some timeslips. I'd also like to see more non-turbo 996's in your list (people just need to submit them).
