Do the 993 and 996 really look that much alike?

I didn't think so. I would think it would be hard to confuse them with so many 996's on the road, at least here in FL.

Anyway, I had a guy pull up next to me in a 348 spyder. He complimented me on my car and then asked if it was a 993?

I don't expect everybody to know everything about every car, but kind of suprised that a ferrari owner couldn't tell the difference.

After that I asked him politely if he wanted to run them a bit and he promptly declined. Smart move on his part after I just got done looking up the stats on his car. A ferrari kill would have been nice

I would have killed a 348 with my 993.

I dont think they look so much alike as to confuse between the two. I mean first of all, the headlights. i think the 993 also looks taller and longer(i dont know exact dimensions off hand). either way and true car lover would know the difference. Yea you would have walked the 348 spyder. He seems like the type of ferrari poseur people criticize. either way, he knew enough to know you would have taken him for a walk, .
