I have the GIAC/PSE on my car and love it... it improves your torque curve all over the place... it's a noticeable difference... removing the lethargy of the 3.4 motor @ 3000 rpm.... do it... you'll like it and you'll get better gas mileage as well...

I have to agree with C70Pete. I got the AP mufflers and I saw my average mpg improve about 1mpg from 19-20mpg. I thought I was crazy at first but it looks like it's remaining consistent. In fact I am driving more aggressive.

I thought have the mufflers be more free-flowing would burn more gas... oh well

OT: "i also use water/methanol injection to cool the burn and prevent pre-detonation". What exactly is this? A type a gas that you buy, or a formulation you put in the tank? Just curious since I have a S/C as well on my 3.4. I'm still new to this S/C stuff. Besides the whine, does you S/C make a gurgling noise on idle, is this normal?

it's a system consisting of a high pressure pump which sprays water/methanol into the intake stream. the 50/50 water/methanol mix is held in a reservoir. it is injected at a predetermined boost manifold pressure. i track the car a lot so i decided to add this system. for me, it's mainly to hold off pre-detonation to save my engine. methanol effectively increases the octane level of the gas/air mixture. secondly...in my case the intercooler gets heat soaked at the track (like a lot of other systems out there) so the injection system also cools the burn. at the track (where i am almost always on boost), i get a cooler running engine than without the boost cooler. one can even get even greater HP if you advance timing since the octane is effetively raised and in the same vein the boost can be raised.

to make a long story short, if you don't track it/race then you don't need it.

hmmm. no gurgling sound just a slight whine. i can't really hear the subtle noises from my car because of the engine, exhaust, lwf , SC and since i removed some of the sound insulation from the interior

PS: sorry for the late reply, wasn't notified of any responses.

GIAC yes the only way to go.
Mufflers = minimal to no power regardless of what anyone says., The most I have documented was 4-5hp
Catalyst-- Highly recommened and will make power I would recommend the Cargraphic high flow cats.. And the car will pass emissions. NO CEL
Headers will extend that torque curve but will depend on who's headers you choose.
Flywheel- Shameless plug we have our own just as good if not better than anyone else's.
Deep Oil Pan-- Sure works if you are tracking the car..

So thats my take on the lot.. Done this several times..........

email me directly for more info on the 3.6= based on the 3.4 / 99 engine fabryce@gmgracing.com
