Purchase Questions???

Long time Porsche owner, looking to upgrade from a '98 Boxster.
For $40K, I can buy a clean, LOW mileage '99 996 or a nice '97 C4S.
I would appreciate opinions and comments.

1) 1999 996 SY W/BLACK Full Leather Int., 25K miles, PSM, Litronics, and few other options. Build date 09/99 (late 99 model).
Price $38000

Plus+ Modern Interior, 300HP, PSM

2)1997 C4S 993 Silver w/Black Int, 50K miles, Turbo Body-Brakes-suspension.
Price $40000

Plus+ Great body/shape, 4W drive, Aircooled

What do you think?
How is the price for the 996? What should I look for.
A PPI will be done.
Thanks

Wow...both are great prices I think. However, I believe the 97 will hold it's value better then the 996, if that is important. Buy both! Any chance of getting the 99 certified by Porsche? A warranty is always good. I won't own one of these cars without one.

Oooh, thats a tough one. I assume that neither will still have a factory warranty. Also, the 97 represents the end of model run where most of the bugs have been worked out, where as the 99 is the beginning of the model run. As Robyn said, if you can get the 99 certified, go with that one, other wise, sounds like you like the 97 shape better, so go with the C4S.
Good luck!

'97 993 C4S will definitely hold its value better than a '99 996. However, $38K for a late MY99 996 with only 25K is a great price. SY/black is an awesome color combo too! I'd say go with the 996.

Both sound good, Go with the one you like Better. If you like them both equally, Get the 97 993, Nice to have that problem. Good Luck

I think I would get the 993. But they are so close, get the one you like driving better.
