Exhaust Tips install question?

All,

Bought a set of aftermarket exhaust tips for my '02 C2 Cab (Duel tips, shown on the left of picture) from DPS-motorsports about a month ago, but despite the what's shown on the website (URL below) (it was advertised for 02' or newer 996) it didn't fit the car when I tried to get them installed. From the picture, you can see the flange connection on the Duel tips (Left side) is WAY to short when compared to the oval tip (right side). DPS-motorsports has sent out replacement tips but found out all of the tips in stock are wrong and correct tips may not be available anytime soon. (don't even know timeframe)

http://www.dps-motorsports.com/after...aspx?prod=8934

To make a long story short, DPS has offered to refund my money but after all the time and effort wasted on these tips (plus I liked the way those tips look), I really hate to return them for a refund, since I tried so hard to get them onto the car.

So the QUESTION is: Can these tips be installed onto the car with minor mod to the tips (cuting and re-weld)? If so, where should I go? DPS has suggested Midas would do it for approx. $75, but I don't know if Midas can do it (or do a good job). If not Midas, then who else? I'm Jacksonville, FL.

Any sugguestions? Thanks

Regards,
Peter

seems like a simple job, cut the flange, weld the nipple, weld the flange on the nipple. Any muffler shop should be able to do it.

I'd have a go with Midas.
I'd also call the supplier and tell them that with all the time and effort, if the midas thing doesn't work out you'd like to be able to still return in their "hacked" condition.
