'04 discount

I was able to secure an '04 anniversary car last Christmas that MSRP'd at $97,xxx for an even $90k. I think the discounts are out there if you are willing to work from stock and travel a little, and obviously, the higher the MSRP the more margin in the car. I live in Iowa and bought the car in STL when the dealer here wanted full sticker, which struck me as nuts. With 1,963 units produced, this really is not limited in any true sense of the word. It's just a nice package of factory options with a distinctive paint color.

The problem that I am running into is pretty stock car, so not much margin, and not willing to deal as much...

I am trying to get an 04 996 C2 with 18 OEMs, Xenon, and Bose only.... and I would like $10k off sticker...so far, no luck - may need to go with an M3 afterall...

I got my M cab for MSRP, the best i've seen is $2500 under sticker. I think Porsche offer very attractive discount compare to BMW!

its sort of a shell game though, right? If I am BMW, I price the typically equipped M3 coupe at about $57k and take off $2k.... or If I am Porsche, I price the typically equipped 911 C2 coupe at $80k and take off $10k...

higher price, more margin, so they take off more....

I was previously looking at M3's and could have bought an ordered car at 2500 over invoice and better.

I found it best to split the profit with the dealer.
They are happy, I am happy, helps them stay in business
all is well.

thanks Darren... i will try Silver Star

Porschedon - I have no problem with the dealer making a profit, but let me assure you that there is no Porsche dealer at risk of "staying in business"... the name of the game for me is reducing the already grossly inflated margin on the car... If I buy one at invoice price, believe me - they are still making money...
