John Romano is infamous around these parts
My car has 36,000 miles on it and I've replaced the alternator, the coolant expansion tank and the ignition switch. So far, that’s less problems than any car I’ve ever owned.

LoL... guess I'm the only one on this board who owned a Honda previously Then again, with Hondas, the dealer tells you that's the way it is, with Porsches, they fix it.

Hmmm... I haven't had any problems with mine so far besides replacing the spark plug sleave during the 30K. *Knock on Wood*

I have heard that the RMS, coolant tank, and MAS are known problems with our 996s.

No, it was a Mercedes!!

The RMS issue is interesting. If you have 30K on your car and nev3r had a problem, chances are good yuo will not. (I'm knocking on wood too!!) Porsche told me that every THIRD car off the line goes through an 1,100 point QC inspection. I wonder if the RMS leaks are the cars that missed the inspection?

Like Saturns, Volvos, Hondas, and Priuses, Consumer Reports are for people who are afraid of life. Life's a *****. Get a helmet. Or move to Sweden. And take Hillary with you.

Thumbs down

Consumer Reports are dorks. I had 5 Corvettes from 1963 to 1984 and they always bashed them. But mine just ran and ran. I put over 150,000 on a 63 that they thought was trash. My 99 Porsche has been great as well. They have a different customer than us.

Hmmm... how is 2001 so much worse than a 2000, I'm not aware they had any major changes.
