Consumer Reports Ranks 911 #1
The most trusted and least biased publication to my knowledge has rated the 911 as the number one sports car in the world. This is a particular honor for Porsche since every factor (including cost) is considered.
Looks like CR agrees with my assessment of the Z06....they state it is poorly finished and has reliability issues.
I don't believe the latest CR report will find itself posted on the 'Vette forums.

I think when they rate it the least reliable a few weeks ago, and #1 now, it immediately makes them a source that lacks credibility.
At least the previous article is now overshadowed by this one.

It is of importance to note that there was no "Most Reliable Sports Car" category. CR presumably did not find any sports car (or car driven hard) to be reliable. It is my guess that the reported reliability issues are secondary to the 911's being tracked.
The article does thoroughly discuss the shortcomings of the ZO6 (door panels that don't fit, rattles, etc.) Nothing that is news to anyone but good unbiased confirmation of what we already know about GM's "wonder car". A world class engine attached to a POS. I still can't understand why somebody would lay down 80K for a ZO6 when they could spend half that amount on a classic that would roast the ZO6 at the strip. I just don't understand the 'vette population.

I agree with the cheap plastic part. I looked and agree it was NO way I was going to spend 80K on a Z06. Picked up my 02TT w/x50 7,911 miles for 73K, modded it and I am happy as can be. But.. what classic car can whip it for half the price?

Isn't CR the magazine that blasted the Suziki for its rollover potential - after the car performed satisfactorily on CR's standard tests - and CR altered its test to virtually guarantee that it would rollover?

Let me make it clear that I'm NOT here to bash Porsches or tout Vettes, like some have done.
And my car had the roof issue, it was replaced, and everything else is great. Subjectively, we all know Corvettes and Porsches drive differently, and that's why we own different cars. To trust Consumer Reports to review cars is
Let them stick to their vacuum cleaners, household bleach,....reviews.
