If they are driving around in Clearwater/St.Pete the Porsche and Corvette samples would be pretty close.

Care to produce a name of another publication that does not accept advertising money?

How objective can the popular car magazines be in reviewing cars when the car manufacturers line the filler pages with advertisements from cover to cover?

Gun Test Magazine. But they only test guns, ammo, scopes, etc. Right now other than my Mustang mags. Consumer Reports is the only car mag I get. I canceled the others; I got tired of all the Honda/Toyota BS.

1. How can you rate reliability on some cars specific model yet some is in general? All Carreras, all SL, all CLK vs. 4 cyl Solara or even single out 2006 Mini Cooper hatchback and based on 1 model year? I think that's just BS. There is no basis of a true objective test. It's garbage.

2. Do you really think they make enough money selling mags to have money to conduct scientific tests on all variety of products? Donations? Dream on. What? All the tester works for free? They borrow testing equipments? If they have to test cars, that's a lot of money to buy them to test and sell them off after testing. Oh, wait, they get them for free just so they could be tested. I bet the guy who wrote it drives a 4 cyl Solara and he think it's sporty. The whole mag is one big ad.

I don't have much faith in CR. Look at when they test audio equipment such as speakers...they think Bose is good. No self respecting audiophile would buy any of the audio equipment they tout as being good.

Sometimes CR has their heads up their asses. I read in one issue that the Corvett had above average body rust. ON A FIBERGLASS CAR???!!!!!

To trust Consumer Reports to review cars is Let them stick to their vacuum cleaners, household bleach,....reviews.
i agree with you man.... they should just stik wit the vacuums
