Battery Replacement
Well, the battery died on my 2003 911 Carrera yesterday. I thought the battery would last a little bit longer, but the car has been sitting a lot. I looked around on some of the forums and will be purchasing a Group 48 battery from Autozone after work today. Can anyone give me any tips on the doing the swap? Is it fairly easy to remove the old battery? Any other recommendations would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Vik

Well, I bought the battery from Autozone and did the swap. Took 10 minutes. I don't know why I ever paid to get a battery installed. FYI for anyone who's battery dies. You don't need to get the Moll Porsche battery. In fact, some say the sealed battery is better. I got the following:
Autozone, Duralast 48-DL battery, 2 year replacement waranty, 7 year regular waranty, for $59.99 with trade-in of old battery.

It may be a little late to assist you, but the battery died in my '03 recently as well. I called Porsche and they advised that the battery fell under the 4 year / 50K warranty as long as I had "enough" miles on the car. I had 24K on the car, as it is my daily driver. As a result, Porsche bought me a new battery, free of charge. Apparently, if you don't put on 5-6K per year, they presume the car is basically being used only as an occasional driver and the battery will die from lack of use. In that case, Porsche won't contribute.
