Car Got Sideswiped

Car Got Sideswiped
Well the car finally got its first major damage. I parked on the street and apparently when the person behind me pulled out they decided to scrape the side of my rear bumper. Of course they didn't leave a note or anything. There is a crack going down about 2 inches and there is a scuff patch about half a square foot on the left corner of my rear bumper. I will take pics later on. Anyone know if I will need a new rear bumper because of the crack or can a good shop repair it? I hate this because they will probably have to color match with the other panels and I assume this will cost $$$$$.

That is just wrong. As if they didn't know that they ran over your bumber.
The good news is that they might be able to repair your bumber by fixing the crack. Most good shops could do a great job too.

The body shops I deal with always say that you need a new bumper. That material is not easily repaired from what I understand, especially if it has a crack in it....sorry to hear about your misfortune

If I parallel park my car I always writwe down the plate number and color of the car parked behind me. It drives my wife nuts but may pay off someday.

Found out that the paint didn't match what I wrote down. Somehow 2 cars came and went before I got back to mine
Just decided to say F-it and never bothered from then on...
