Thumbs up New user, Great Forum, Exhaust Question

First of all I am a new user, just wanted to say HI, and thanks for the great info. Anyways I have a question....In terms of the Bypass Pipes that you can buy on EBAY for the 01 carerra non turbo, HOW LOUD IS IT? I have been trying to get a feel for quite some time now and cant find a video or feedback on this. Is it A: sounds mean B: For sure ticket, screaming down the streets, probably only good on the track C: Doesnt really do much in terms of sound

I had one person tell me it is so loud it is unbearable. I can see why he said that seeing you you basically take out the last half of your exhaust...

PS I heard the RUFF exhaust system a month back and it was PERFECT, sounded great but kind of expensive...

Thank you

you can check out the clips from the fabspeed website. word around the board if that unless you are really gung ho you will not like it. do a search because someone posted a ghetto way to rig up a bypass pipe from crap you get from autozone just to get a feel for if you will like it or not before you drop cash on it. also there are many barely used ones floating around as many people order and then sell because upon arrival it is simply too loud.

Seems to be they are too loud for the street and honestly probably would bring more attention to your car from the police.

I have the Fabspeed exhaust and it sounds awesome.

Just go for the factory PSE. There was one in the for sale section for $1000 a few weeks back.

True, it may be heavy and not have any hp gains but at the very least you can turn the sound on and off!

fabspeed is the ****! IMO the factory PSE is kinda overpriced and it;s not that easy to hook up the sound control switch thingy...

Hmmm

Great info, I kind of had the feeling it was going to be too loud....sucks. I will check out the other exhaust set ups see if I find one i like. A month ago I met this guy tryin to sell me a RUFF system, it was the ****, but he was trying to do a package deal with his rims so I passed on it....What do you guys think about the Ruff exhaust? High quality, does it vibrate too much? Do they burn out pretty quick (keep the same sound tone for years...etc) thanks!
