Darren - You're right, but buzz kill man. A 996 in the hand is better than 997 in the bush....

 

By no means am I trying to give a buzz kill - sorry JNX if it came off that way - just want to make sure evry member is well informed of what they should pay so they have more for mods which is what happens when you hang out here

 

No I didn't take it that way, Int color is black, and I ended up getting 11.5 k off. Not Quite 12, But I'm alright with that,and I didn't think I would get anything off a 997, and I really like all of the 911's So who's to say a 997 is better than a 996 is better than a 993, etc,etc. I am giving up an 02 Cab. Which I liked OK, But I have always liked the lines of the coupe, and I do want a 6-speed this time, My last 2 Cabs have been Tip. Thanks for the reply's. I have been around Porsche for Quite a while, I have owned 5 now, and the 04 will make 6, But I have learned alot from this board. $11.5K off MSRP is right around invoice for a Carrera with those options, plus there's a holdback of around $2K. And I hear there are also dealer incentives from Porsche to move the '04s.

That is a great deal for an ordered car, probably because your dealer knows you good From what we 'know' so far, the 997 is more like a v996.5.5, I have a 03 C4S, so I think I'll wait for the 998. We'll see.
