Braking speeds

Just a quick question. Does anyone know the braking speed of the 996 911 versus the E46 M3?

Having just come from an M3, the brakes feel very different, and I wanted to know what the performance of the brakes were side by side.

There is one major difference. I believe the M3 has a normal vacuum brake booster while the 911 has a hydraulic booster. (the 993 turbo I worked on did ... not positive about 996s). This makes for a completely different feeling. Same efficiency though (limited more by tires than fluid pressure).

If I had to guess I'd say the Porsche brakes just as good, and beats it on fading.

But there are soooo many factors (and upgrades) to it that you can improve a lot. Sticky tires, soft pads will put you ahead (or behind in this case ). Then you can go the whole enchilada with oversize rotors etc etc.
