Racing Karts on Long Island, NY-
Finally there is a racing Kart school on Long Island -The school is located at Westhampton Go -Kart Track and features brand new
Spec racing karts using the Birel chassis and IAME
motors distributed by Montoya Racing. Jon Rhingold is the owner and bought the business to really have fun. He has hired a pro Karting champ to teach anybody from the novice to the expert. He can be reached at 917 567-8016 Karting is a great way to learn how to race or just drive a track. The school is flexible and it's different then the skip barber or other programs. You show up and drive and John puts an instructor out with you for instruction. I did two hours but the schedule is flexible. Great way to rent a Kart-He had drinks, food and stood by with another kart just in case of a problem. After two hours I can hardly move. If anyone wants to go-please post-I would love to go again and he is open seven days a week. What a great addition to the East End!!!

I would love to go...I live 5 minutes away!
I was looking into the shifter kart thing but heard that the Westhampton track's days are numbered. So I didn't think investing in a kart was worth it since it's the only kart track left on the island.
Do you have any other info?
