First Drive Impressions
Well, I picked her up last night and I have to admit that it was sooooo nice being back in "my" car. I missed the sound of her!
However, with that said, I have found out some interesting stuff. The break-in for this motor is 1000 miles. With a firm "no hitting the rev limiter, Robyn." Not that I do that...ever!
But take it easy and vary the load on it by fluctiating the RPM's. By the end of this weekend, I will be finished with break-in, that is great news.
Now, driving impressions. In that my drive home was about 45 minutes, I got to vary my rpms. Slipping through the gears felt really good, even at low RPMs. The torque in these cars still never ceases to amaze me (coming from a Boxster). Lack-luster is not a term I would ever use. I'm at about 3000 rpms in sixth gear, well below the "power band" and I gave her a nice smooth acceleration. And although I've always been impressed with the get up and go at this range, this time it felt really good, stronger. A definite difference from before.
I won't know for sure until I am able to get on it after break in, but thought I would post my initial impressions.
To answer a few questions from before: I had 21000 miles on the car when she went into the dealer last week. New vs remanufactured was never discussed.
Thank you for all the nice comments you guys. I just consider myself very lucky. Everyday I get to slip into my dream car and life is just too short to not be happy.
