Hello From Up North

Hello everyone,

just wanted to introduce myself.

I dont have a P-car yet, but i am looking for one. a 996C2.

but i have been reading alot of different posts here and finding them very usefull.

im not new to cars... i was involved with race teams for a long time, but i am currently just sitting on my ***!!

i will hopefully have my car early April, as finding the right one is a little harder here.

where is here? Vancouver, BC, Canada!!! and no there are NO igloos and we dont get very much snow here!!!!

there are still some questions i have....

1.)i dont want to do much "tuning" to the engine side of things.... just sound... and i was wondering HOW loud are the muffler by-passes from Fabspeed?

2.) will the X73 /74 suspenion be too low? there are some big speed bumps here!! does it even fit on a pre 02 car

3.) if i do the following mods, what will be the estimated HP gained and is it worth it?

Headers, sport cats, muffler by-pass OR sport mufflers, KN intake, ECU flash, plenum.

4.) should i forgow the above list and just do the the exhuast, suspension and good seats with a Harness/rollbar?

thanks, i am very excited about getting my car, and i just want to have everything planned out before i get her!!

THANKS ALOT TO EVERYONE IN ADVANCE!!

Rod

The Fabspeed muffler bypasses are AGGRESSIVELY LOUD at full throttle. You either hate it or you love it. I have mine on full time and I love them. It's kind of like a Harley/Chopper. You want to be heard coming down the road for safety reasons of course.

But seriously, it is a noticeably louder sound. Very throaty, much like a GT3 cup car on the track. Be careful w/ local laws about noise violation, etc.

It will turn heads either way. It will be a mixture of....

From what I've read you wont get much horsepower from the NA cars. Apparently Porsche didn't leave a lot of easy HP on the table. You will surely get better throttle response though and it will be faster than a car without the mods. Is it worth it? only you can answer that. Some people like to mod the engine, some don't.
But that's the beauty, it's all up to you and your personal style.
