I am now first on my dealer’s list for a 997 C4S. Since I have two years left on my Z4 lease, the timing should be perfect. While I love the 996 C4S, I haven’t been able to find a car in stock with colors or equipment I want. To special order a car that won’t arrive until the summer and isn’t heavily discounted ($4,000 off MSRP is the best I could find) doesn’t make a lot of sense with the Type 997 making its appearance a month or two later. I will look again in a couple of months to see if deeper discounts can be had on the 996.
