mmmm...alu

Just got the Cab back from the dealer for its' annual service and to install a couple of Alu trim pieces. The top Alu part of the steering wheel feels much thicker than my original stock 3 spoker, I'm loving it. Interestingly, the dealer charged me 0.8 hours to install the steering wheel and 2.0 hours for the door trim..go figure....

I could've gone crazy with the Alu, but instead decided to do the trim that I touch.

looks fantastic, esp the steering wheel. How much for the wheel? Addition of instrument gauge aluminum decor rings would accent your interior even better IMO. (I just ordered mine through Performanceproducts.com for $139 plus ship) TC

looks wonderful. I did the instrument surround and the 4 piece door kit myself in alu and love it. found out my alu wheel is here and so is my center vent in alu. can't wait

enjoy, but beware of the power of aluminum. just look at msindi's car

Car looks great.

Gabf1, I know what you mean. Msindi's car is very nice indeed and makes you want more aluminium. His car inspired my purchase of the Aluminium 3 spoke steering wheel, Rear Centre Console, Centre Air Vent, Door pieces and instrument cluster surround. I also have the trim rings to install. I guess the only thing left to do would be the dash trim pieces.

That wheel looks sweet. Is there a clear coat over the alum section?

Fantastic look - congrats! I absolutely love that steering wheel! Does anyone know if the aluminum part of the wheel becomes very hot in the summer? Here in Texas we have to worry about things like that!

And for those of you who would like some of your interior parts to have that alumalook finish (or any other color for that matter), simply email me at eric@bumperplugs.com

We produce nearly every interior part in factory finishes, except leather and carpet.

So far I have noticed that the steering wheel remains cooler than the gear stick when in direct sunlight. Going through summer here with it and have not had an issue. Yes it does get hot but not to the point of burning.

The steering wheel cost about $1000, after the euro conversion, purchased through a board sponsor.

As far as a clearcoat, I would have to say yes. The wheel is called "alu look" so I don't think it's actual aluminum, it's a synthetic material finished to look like aluminum. Also, the door trim pieces are similar, they feel like some sort of light weight synthetic/plastic...not the same texture as aluminum.

It was 31 degrees this morning in NY and it felt very cold to the touch. The shift **** is real aluminum, so it would probably feel colder/winter and hotter/summer than the steering wheel.
