Manhiem Auction 996 Prices

Hello,
Can someone supply the most recent prices for 01-03 Boxter S's and 99-00 996 Carrera 2's at the auction. I have a friend who is considering one of these options for a track car and would like to see the going auction rates.

Is he/she tall? If so, they must follow the "broomstick" height rule for all converts, per PCA rules. Might be better off going with a 996.

Go to roadfly.org to the finance section. Tarry from Leasecompare is the moderator there and he can get you Manheim values.

How are some 01 Carreras still selling for $56k? I'm not even going to ask nearly that high for my 02 with 17K miles!

Personally, I would not be interested in the 3.4L car due to shady reliability of that engine. Since Porsche isn't willing to take responsibility for the cracking of liner in the 3/5 cylinder, people aren't willing to pay the premium for these cars.

from what ive read thats 5%-10% are RMS/liners/coolant oil mix issues of the 3.4 if that, from the same article, when they cracked one open with 100K+ miles, they said that theres hardly any wear and can easily drive up to 200K miles.

Still 5-10% is a bit too much. Esp since it comes with over $10K price tag. People expect a 100% engine reliability till 100K. And since porsche doesn't accept any responsibility for it, the prices are low. At least BMW accept their role for the issues with M3 engines and extended the power train warranty, so even the earlers M3s are still selling for good $$$.

C2 in that year range are bringing $25K to $28K in the avg range with an avg mileage of 59kmi, off the top of my head. I am looking at 99s also.

Boxster dunno but PM me and I'll send you everything.
