If they built a Turbo Targa, I would buy it!

I have been enamored with the glass roof Targas ever since I first drove a 993 of this variant back in 1998. As others have said, the squeaking and leaking often spoken of with 993 Targas have been addressed in the new model. If this is your concern, I wouldn't let it keep you from going with a Targa!

I purchased an '03 Targa in search of a combination of cab and coupe. I got exactly what I hoped for, and I enjoy it every time I'm in it. The rear vision is a little darker when the roof is open, but nothing that is a problem. There are occasional squeaks from the top, but I see a lot of coupe owners discussing squeaks that they have from their roofs. The Targa's are a much rarer entity when Porsche's group together.

I've installed the X74 suspension on mine and it is now just about perfect.

Any other questions, just ask.

kids

My first 911, a '93 C4 cab, came along when my two kids were toddlers. They grew up with the various Porsches that followed, and always fit in the back seat just fine. In about 2002, when they were 12 and 9 respectively, they no longer fit comfortably, and my reaction was to buy a 2002 CLK 55 cabriolet. Cool car, a lot of fun, a functional back seat, but it was no 911. I drove it for two years, and bought an '04 anniversary 911 last winter. The kids don't fit in the back, so we don't take the Porsche then. Increasingly, as they age (now 14 and 11), they don't want to spend all that much time with me and my wife anyway...but their friends always want to go for a ride, and figure out a way to fit.
