should i replace my shift link?

should i replace my shift link with an evo shift link? somebody was telling me '03s dont use the plastic one, so replacing it is a waste of time (and money). is it true?

thanks....

no, don't bother. it is very unlikely to break and a new porsche one is like $20.

I have a 2000, I replaced mine and it was pretty beat up, with the stockers I had to jam it into 2nd, it would of been just a matter of time before it was gonna snapped, so I went with the evo billet and feels/sounds alot better.
