Button Willow Raceway 5/9/04 P.D.E.
Hi Guys:
I'm signing up for the performance driving clinic at Button Willow Raceway on May 9, 2004. I attended one of these sessions 3 months ago. It was a blast. I learned much about handling dynamic and how to attack the corners properly at every turn. The day is split into 2 groups. Amateur group and the Enthusiast group. We have the option to drive with the instructor inside our cars or drive alone in time trial on the track. Cars are spaced 15 seconds apart to decrease chance of collision. I had the instructor drive me around the track for a few laps. I never knew my car was so capable. They also set up a slalom course where we learned to drive in circles attempting to throw the car out of control. I learned that with mid engine or rear engine cars, the corret thing to do when the tail breaks lose is to accelerate out the corner rather than slamming on the brake. This lesson may have saved me from a few incidents where I sped off the free way off ramp.
Helmet rental is available at the race track.

Reservation phone#661-764-5333
Fee is $125 dollars for the entire day of track time plus instruction.
Hope to see you guys there.

If you want to head out to BW sooner, Tracquest is also sponsoring a two day DE in April. See www.tracquest.com. It's a bit more $$ then the DE put on by Buttonwillow. I'll be out there.
I'm confused, is the BW sponsored event timed? If so, my insurance wouldn't pay if something happened. The tracquest event is not timed.
