If the flywheel is not burned or scored and is true, there is not a need to turn it down. However, turning it down if desired is fine. It most case, turning it is not needed and a waste of money and effort. Just check that no springs are broken and that the wheel operates within specs.

You can not turn down a dual-mass flywheel...

That is unless you have some very special techniques...

They are turned down or ground down all the time, including mine.

Dual-mass flywheels would have to be turned down by a machinist and not a typical mechanic(from what I know)

A dual mass flywheel has essentially 2 masses(dual mass) sandwiched together. If the masses are the bread, the meat of the saandwich is a rubber type compound that is used to diminish vibrations and chatter.

If you put these flywheel on a standard brake/flywheel lathe, the flywheel is impossible to be held perfectly center due to this rubber compound.

Im not saying it can't be done, but it's a risk if you dont have the proper equipment

How is the noise at idle with this combo?

if you are sensitive to noise and want a quiet cabin, don't get it. i have the aasco and if the radio is off and the windows are up it sounds like there's a bucket of bolts in the transmission.

i find as my clutch/LWF wears, driveability is starting to become an issue. i might need a new clutch, new flywheel surface or both. it's starting to become too grabby.

to me the noise is nothing big.. I mean when you are at idle and th clutch is out you can hear the rattle and what not...but the driving difference is HUGE...

all depends on the usage. if it's a cruiser with a lot of stop and go i would think twice.

Just hold the clutch and you won't have noise

It only matters in drive-thrus, on dates, or next to hot chicks haha
