Who else finds the MOST system incredibly annoying?

Its one thing to put performance improving "bleeding edge" technology into a car, but to put a truly unsupported fiber optic system that offers no expandability or upgradability is kinda ridiculous. For those of us who enjoy driving our 911 on a regular basis it would be nice to have the option to connect our iPod (or other MP3 player) or have some functional ability to add in an auxilliary device. As it is there is no real support for the MOST system and to me I experience no real enhancement by having this fiber optic network in my car. What is the advantage to the consumer?

It appears the only solution is to rip out the system entirely and put in an after market sound system. Personally I'd rather spend the money on my home theater rather than making a vehicle which can never truly be an audiophiles dream an audio money sink. I wonder what design genius at Porsche told Becker not to include a standard auxilliary input on the back of the headunit.

I agree 100% and don't know why either. I don't see any benefits or disadvantages for Porsche and Becker by not having an Aux input in the stereo system. But other than that, I do like the sound coming out of the system. Yes, there could be better too.

The OEM systems are ages behind the current needs of their customers. I should be able to take MP3 coded CD or DVD's or even portable storage media and simply plug them into my car stereo. My Palm Zire 71 can play MP3 from a compact flash card and it costs allot less than the Bose system in my car. My previous 03.5 M3 had the HK stereo and also suffered from CD changer madness.

earlyapex ... that's true. Simply incredible that today we can't plug a USB flah drive or CompactFlash card in the system and listen to our music. I second that !! lol
