Auto Repair Bay Area
Got rear-ended this morning on 101 I am looking for repair shop recommendations. I was given Car West in Santa Clara and Auto Tech in San Jose by my insurance company, anyone use them?
I was lucky the guy that caused the accident totaled his car when he rear-ended the guy behind me and shoved him into me...and that Lexas behind me looks pretty bad as well. No one hurt just my baby is damaged.
Thank for your help

Make a dimishment in value claim against the guy that hit you. When you go to sell your car, it will most likely show up on Carfax and in any event a smart buyer will have it body shop inspected. The resale value can decrease dramatically with any body/paintwork.

Sorry to hear that. I recently had some work done on my wife's car and also on mine. Carlsen Porsche in red wood city also has a body shop called carlsen... which I heard they are good, but I took my car to Eurotech 650.654.6805 in San Carlos, very impressive, they are authorized MBZ body shop but their attn to detail was mind blowing. I had another experience with them that could be helpful, I purchased a turbo front bumper from ebay and took it there and they refused to put it on because they said they only deliver the best quality and that was NOT up to their standards, I liked that and I ended up not doing it (the bumper still sits in a corner).
I cannot recommend Carlsen Autobody in Palo Alto. I had them do work a few years ago. They damaged my grill (broke off a mounting tab) and tired to cover it up with body puddy. I would never use them.
I have also heard that German Auto Body is going down hill. A previous employee told me that they were in the habit of using customer vehicles to run errands.
I don't know about Eurotech

Good to hear no one was hurt
As for the car, my TT is currently at Mathews Carlsen Body Works. Brian, recommended them, he said to speak to Tom. So far, so good with service... i asked him for some pictures of the process and he said he will provide me with them. He responds my emails quickly, with great knowledge so i'm hoping they do a great job *nail bitting*.

I had poor experience with eurotech. They didn't do all the work they were supposed to and kept my car for a repaint job for 1 mo! I had to go there 3x to get all the work finished. Each time they call, they would tell me it's ready and miss a part of job. Very unprofessional. They also left adhesive marks all over the car. I had to bring it back to have it removed. Car was also not washed and just sat out for 4 weeks. Paint job itself was good but obviously not well managed in my experience.
I went to the Works in Santa Clara. They had a 360CS there along with other nice rides (NSX, viper). I had a cracked bumper which they gave me an option of repairing instead of replacing. Matthew Carlsen didn't want to repair it because they don't want to deal with hassle. Savings is $500. Just wanted to share my experience.
