The pump looks like it will cavitate, since it is higher than the reservoir

Attention to detail wins in all 3 forums I posted "Pat on the Back". It took me close to an hour and I was troubleshooting it in person. I placed the pump about an 1-2 inches to high from the Reservoir out and a water pump will not pump air. As usual I now can not upload a picture now, I was able to post pic ealier I will try to post pics and finish the thread tomorrow.

I guess that engineering degree came in handy after all.... if you purge your lines correctly with minimal air, it might of still worked...remember its a closed system.

My reservoir is vented to allow for expansion and contraction. It would pump temporaily but would not supply enough water pressure (Static) in the res to keep the pump fed being it's elevation relative to the res.

System should not be vented. Remove vent, purge air out of the system, fill completely with coolant and cavitation will be impossible. If the system if vented, you will have to add coolant constantly.

Will do. Do you do any events locally? When do you expect to have your car back together. We should go for a run sometime and or grab a beer.

I used to visit PIR / Drags years ago and others here locally now just hit the Barret Jackson car show religiously and drewl. My car hopefully by winter but that's a big if. I am now putting in my oil, relays, dme and see what lights up! All of this has to be tuned to a 996 from a Boxster DME then tuned for my SC which I am clueless except to talk with GIAC and see what they say. When finished a run up where the roads have curves sounds like fun for lunch or some thing. Finished my custom intake last weekend. Time to get my oil put in and going with mobil 1 15/50W..What are you using here with these temps?

Couple of comments on your setup.. First off, what is the flow of the filter?Looks like it would not have enough. Secondly, not having an absolutely smooth intake tube is going to substantially increase the heat of the intake temeparture, which will reduce the amount of compressed O2 you'll get to the engine. If the outlet tube from the SC is the same, you will greatly reduce the final compression into the intake too.

Just a few things to think about.

Ideally I agree with you it is not perfect, a Bell Mouth would work nicely but I need a filter. I spent some time trying to find a different way of routing using outside air but man there little space in there and trying to find an airbox was that I could modify was daunting. I almost cut a hole directly out the back and mount the filter assy under the rear bumper, however I ran out of guts and it would make changing the filter a pain. If you see another way that you can do it let me know, or find a molded piece ...throw it my way. As far as the filter the diameter is the same as the intake on the SC and some that I looked at where of cone type which the radious was to large at one end whcih would not fit, where the straight type offer as much flow but fits more conveniently. I suppose the results will be in the tuning/dyno and if it stalls well then back to the drawing board.
