996 c2 fastest start technique?
996 c2 fastest start technique?
coming from my mustang background, doing a creamy burnout and some 180's is big fun. of course, the mustangs are high torque-low grip machines. so they don't suffer much from indulging in delinquent behavior.
1. what about a 996? high grip-low torque is a recipe for trouble. or is it?
2. what's the highest revs that you guys dump the clutch for the quickest starts?
3. what's the highest revs to use in order to induce wheelspin and therefore not wear out the clutch? this is working on the principle that if the wheels have no mechanical grip, the clutch won't suffer as much.
4. is my g50 a delicate piece? can it handle some minor showing off...say, one or two burnouts?
my friend ruined a ferrari f355 diff by doing a couple of donuts. big fun, but big repair bill.

3-4k, they get off the line hard.

5-6k

I wouldn't be doing donuts with it. Don't beat on it! If something breaks it's not 100 bucks to fix.
