new purchase, ?'s

I just purchased a 2000 C 4 cab. 58K, Xenon headlights, full leather interor, subtle leather seats, parking sensors. I'm in the process of purchasing an extended warranty through warranty america. Anyone have any experience with them. $2850, 4 year-60K. They insist the car have regular service through dealer or independent. I cant even do the oil changes. They don't require an inspection, but I pay $500 down, and must log at least 1K on the car within 30 days before I can make a claim to rule out pre-existing problems. does this sound the norm for warranty companys. Last warranty I purchased thru my credit union took effect right away. I tried to post pics but fill is to large. how do I make the pic fit?

1000 miles in 30 days? seems like a lot to ask before coverage begins. personal opinions differ on this, but you may want to consider going warrantyless. these cars are very reliable with the only big issue being the rms, which is around 1000 to fix (someone correct me if i am wrong on this). additionally the plastic rear windows on early 996 cabs is prone to the normal plastic wear and tear, but can last a long time if cared for properly: mainly don't let it form a vertical crease when it begins to go down, don't put the top down in weather colder than 50 F because the plastic is more brittle and more prone to cracking at colder temps, and condition the plastic every now and then. this probably didn't answer your questions, but welcome to the family and enjoy in good health.

This sounds like the Continental coverage that I bought.
Their logic for time before the service begins is simple.
They want to be sure that you aren't driving with a failure now so that you can turn it in once your coverage begins. If you are to drive a specific time and/or distance, they feel better knowing that there is nothing pre-existing with your machine.
In my case, I still had factory warranty left and had to have at least 30 days of coverage left before being able to use theirs.
I agree on the service thing but in their heads they are locking down that the car is being well taken care of so if something huge fails they have a paper trail and not our word that we did something.

Going warrantless sounds inviting, but in the back of my mind I cannot help thinking when and where. Also, I'm not eager to pay 2-3 hundred for oil changes because I've gotten used to tinkering with my 3.2. I guess I'll think about it a couple more days. Can someone email me instructions as to how to make the pics fit. I'd like to post some pics. email at bcr4d@comcast.net. thanks

I am close to sealing the deal on a warranty on my 01 C2 Cab and they want $2300 for 4years/75K miles... I looked at the contract and all they want to see if that if I change the oil that I show them the receipts of the oil filter and oil that I purchase for the car... They don't require that I do it at a mechanics or dealer...

The warranty was offered to me by Carfax and the company is Carchex... They seem to be reputable and are listed in BBB.com..

Send me a PM with your email and I can send you the contract that they sent me if you want to look it over...

I will set up a post on them to see if anyone else has used them...
